It’s a beautiful, cool Sunday morning. The world around me is still sleepy, relaxing into the coolness after weeks of horrendous heat. I was up before 9 (I did go to bed at 10:30), planning my week, adding to the ‘brain dump’ in my notebook. I reviewed what my ‘weekly reset’ needs to look like. Sundays are the perfect day to get yourself ready for the new week, to ‘hit the ground running’, as they say.
My weekly reset:
- Clean out handbag/s and purse: it’s amazing how much we accumulate in just a week–receipts, tissues, tickets, random stuff.
- Pot plant care:: we’re sadly down to 5 pot plants in my studio now. My chilli pepper plant seems to be struggling with the heat. The ficus that was doing so well in the living room 6 weeks ago, started shedding leaves like a moulting dog, and now lives here with me. He sprouted upwards so I guess it was the lack of light, from us trying to keep the blazing morning sun out of the lounge. The hen-and-chicken plant is looking sad. Oddly enough only my 2 orchids are doing well, but that might be because I’m constantly misting them.
- Plan the week ahead: I have 2 to-dos every day and 4 mornings of study, which I’ve worked into the mornings when Miquel’s still sleeping (he works nights). I am doing 14 courses at the moment (through the CoE) which expire at the end of next July, so I need to keep to a schedule and finish 4 modules per week. My courses are:
- Breathwork
- Chair Yoga
- Kabbalah
- Astrology
- Divination
- Sigil Magic
- Advanced Shadow Mastery
- Spirit Writing and Drawing
- Light Language Healing
- Spirit Keeper
- Spiritual Counselling Skills
- Numerology
- Writing your Memoir
- Pranic Healing
- Meal planning: Plan meals and create a grocery shopping list for the week.
- Clear out email inboxes: I like to keep my 2 email inboxes clear, it’s the only way I know I’m up-to-date, especially with AoCP matters. That said, I also need to start clearing out some of the email ‘files’. I seem to have one for everything.
- Curate phone photos: I tend to take loads of photos for fun and it’s a good idea just to curate them once a week to keep on top of them.
- Clean and tidy studio: when I’m in the middle of a project, things get so chaotic I start misplacing stuff, so new rule: tidy once a week as well as clean.
- Tidy, clean and space-clear lounge: I have no idea how the lounge gets so untidy, there always seems to be clothes everywhere and we have the habit of not always putting things away… Also, burn some incense/smudge/use sound to clear any stagnant energy.
- TLC: Give myself a face mask, foot spa, or something else I would normally just postpone until any other day.
- Brain dump: Add to my list of everything that’s on my mind to do, investigate, etc. I then take a few things from this list and schedule them into the week ahead.
Ok then! Time to finish my coffee and get started!!

Thanks for sharing Leigh. It certainly is food for thought and you are inspiring me to declutter and get my ducks in a row.
Hi Lyn, I’m happy to hear that. A weekly rest definitely helps the week to start off smoothly. Keep me posted! Xx
