Where do the days go? I woke up at 10am, which is quite late for me nowadays. I’m really keen to start creating a new Japanese journal BUT I need to stick to the ‘schedule’ and do my weekly reset. I also spent too much time this past week online sorting bits out and didn’t get to the things I’d scheduled for myself. To paraphrase, it’s true what they say: we overestimate what we can get done in a day, and underestimate what we can do in a lifetime.
As today’s a full fasting day and I need to keep busy, I should be able to get quite a bit done on this list:
- Weekly reset–email inboxes already empty!
- ‘Fix’ (= stop it from falling apart even further) my threadbare towelling gown. I use it as a ‘bath towel’ when I get out of the shower and into my wheelchair. I’ve had it for about 18 years and it’s falling apart at the seams BUT I insist on using it until the end of summer, when I’ll make a new one. The towelling fabric is so thin now that it’s perfect for the summer heat.
- Make an ‘ice pack’ for Miquel using calico and 12 small plastic ice packs. I need to figure out how to do it. Perhaps I’ll take photos and do a tutorial…?
- Lavender sachets: My sister-in law gave me lots of heavenly lavender from her garden which is now dry and can be made into little sachets.
- Study? I’m 4 modules behind this week, so if I have any time later, I’ll do some studying.
CARDS FOR THE DAY:
- 3 of Cups
- Oracle: Release (got that yesterday too!)
REFLECTING ON MY CHOICES THIS WEEK (as they relate to my post on Day 1)
- I chose my health over my food addictions 80% of the time.
- I chose to exercise every day, even though I generally didn’t feel like it.
- I chose to read instead of watching TV
- I chose to nurture my relationships with meaningful conversations.
- I chose to go to bed before 11pm most days.
- I chose to see the best in myself as I am right now.
- I chose to focus on the best in people a little more than before.
- I chose to smile at strangers.
- I chose to not spend my money frivolously.
- I chose to be grateful for all the joy and beauty in my life.
- I chose to listen to the needs of my body and fast for 36 hours.
- I continue to choose to see my biggest struggles as my greatest teachers.
WHAT I CAN DO BETTER NEXT WEEK:
- More creative time: start the Japanese journal
- More study: stick to the schedule!
- Sit with my emotions a little more.
- Declutter the bathroom cupboard that is annoying me.
FASTING UPDATE: 38 hours!!

Yes! MIquel has been nagging me for ages to make a new one. I just can’t be called to work with all that towelling in this heat! Got to get to it in October!
